No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion

It’s time for taxpayer funding of abortion to end. The House has introduced a bill that would accomplish this: No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion and Abortion Insurance Full Disclosure Act of 2025, or H. R. 7.

The Hyde Amendment is meant to prevent federal funding of elective abortion. But it has frequently been disregarded, most recently by the Biden administration. In January President Donald Trump signed an executive order to enforce the Hyde Amendment. H. R. 7 builds on that order.

“No matter which party holds power in Washington, Americans should never be forced to fund the violence of abortion with their tax dollars,” said Marilyn Musgrave, vice president of Government Affairs at Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America. “Despite Americans’ strong support of this policy, pro-abortion members of Congress attack the Hyde Amendment in every spending bill. The No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion and Abortion Insurance Full Disclosure Act would finally apply Hyde principles permanently across the whole federal government, including stopping abortion subsidies in Obamacare.” (Emphasis added.)
