California Assembly Bill 2223 - Reproductive Health
Attention California Residents:
It’s time to speak up and ask your assembly members to reject Assembly Bill 2223, which comes dangerously close to decriminalizing infanticide.
Supporters of the bill claim it does not allow killing infants post-birth. But the law does prevent investigations of “perinatal deaths,” which the California Welfare & Institutions Code defines as up to a month after delivery (the bill fails to define “perinatal deaths” at all).
In practice, this could result in newborns left to die after late-term, botched, or illegal abortions.
If you live in California, please send a message to your state representative asking them to reject A.B. 2223. We’ve provided suggested wording, but feel free to edit the message to reflect your exact concerns.
